Ladies, and gentlemen, drum roll please…  The casting for this year’s Marlowe Theatre pantomime has been announced.

We are very pleased to be able to tell you that Stephen Mulhern will be returning to our theatre. Stephen is something of a Marlowe Theatre panto veteran, having featured  in no less than three of them. His last appearance with us was in 2011/12 in Cinderella (the first panto in the new theatre).

Since then he’s become one of the most in-demand television presenters in the UK. He’s currently appearing alongside entertainment legends Ant & Dec on their Saturday Night Takeaway and also presents Catchphrase, Big Star’s Little Star and Britain’s Got More Talent.

Stephen started his career as a magician, becoming the youngest ever member of The Magic Circle. He also trod that time honoured path to stardom of working as a Butlin’s Redcoat, spending two seasons at their resort at Minehead in Somerset. After winning a TV talent show with a comedy magic act, he performed at the Royal Variety Performance in 1997, aged just 20, after which he launched his successful career as a TV presenter.

In addition to Stephen, also making a welcome return this year will be our panto favourites Ben Roddy (as Dolly the Cook)  and Lloyd Hollett (as Captain Crabstick). Casting for the title role of Dick Whittington, and baddie King Rat will be announced later.

Dick Whittington will be sponsored by Lipscomb Volvo and Mission Training.

Don’t forget, Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs last Christmas sold out, and tickets for Dick Whittington are going fast!

Dick Whittington:  Friday 25 November – Sunday 8 January. Book here .
